Frequently Asked Questions

1)      How can you nominate someone or a team to be inducted? Fill out the nomination form pages and submit with a photo  to Donna Levy at our Hall of Fame address in Naperville, IL

2)      How is someone selected to HOF?  Once a nomination form is received it is reviewed by the appropriate committee. The committee who is from that era select the people to be considered to be voted on. The public votes online or can mail in. Hall of Fame inductees vote separately and their input is considered more valuable than the public. Final approval is made by the HOF Board.

3)      How is a team selected for the HOF?  Nominations are made to the Hall of Fame and the Board selects the teams.

4)      How can I volunteer to help?  Contact Ron Kubicki or Donna Levy as to what you would like to do.

5)      How long are people allowed on the ballot? if a person is not selected on over 2 years to be inducted they are removed from list, they can be added again

6)      Can you be nominated if still playing? Yes if you are at least 50 years old.

7)      I have memorabilia for the museum, what do I do to offer it?  Advise Al Maag, al.maag@avnet.com what you have first to determine if it will be considered. The museum is not big so we do not want items that will not be used. We do love to get jerseys of teams.

8)      If I buy a brick, when will be placed in the park? All bricks are placed in ground the third week of July, in time for our inductee day program the Sunday before the Forest Park Invitational Tournament when the plaques of each inductee is unveiled. A ball game is played afterwards by the legends of the game.

2012 125th Anniversary of Softball

The great game of softball started in Chicago at the Farragut Boat Club...in 1887 on a Thanksgiving Day while bored alumni of Harvard and Yale waited the ticker tape scores of their football game...wrapped up a boxing glove and starting hitting with a broom stick. In celebration of that event, the Hall of Fame Board led by Ron Kubicki are working hard to attract the funding to start the build of the museum in Forest Park.

You can help by buying a brick, become a dinner sponsor or run an ad at the dinner on April 14th. There are thousands of past and current players...just think 1000 bricks will pay for the museum...please consider helping so we can describe our great sport's history and recognize the hall of fame players. Thanks

Al Maag

Any union workers out there?

Ray Topps and Ron Kubicki who heading our building efforts for the inductee park would like to speak to any craftsman about helping on this great project. Per our instructions by the city/park any support must be done by union people.

New Champions of 16" softball

Congrats go out to Flashback winning their first Major ASA title and beating Stover of Iowa in the if needed game in Crystal Lake. This was Stover's second 2nd place finsih in a row. Past repeat champions 45's were upset by Flashback in the 1st game and like great champions fought back in the losers bracket into 4th place.

Also congrats to A Champion Kings from the Northern suburbs over the Crush in the if game too. The Crush came in 4th in the recent state finals under HOF pitcher, Mickey Blestri have come in 2nd place, 7 times.
