The game's famous Bloomer Girls and Blue Birds were the main feature before windy city games. Eventually, America turned to these ladies to start the baseball league during WWII. 12" fast pitch softball has always been a popular sport for women, but 16" was and is still played today. Those ladies and teams are also honored by the Hall. |
